Our Technical publications department has an immediate opening for a Technical Author.

Your place of work: Stans, Schweiz

What you do:

  • Production of descriptive, operation and procedural Data Modules and page blocks to ASD S1000D and iSpec 2200 specifications from engineering reports, drawings and general aircraft related documentation for the mechanical, electrical and avionic chapters of Pilatus technical publications
  • Assistance with the production of Service Bulletins, Airplane Flight Manuals and other related documents
  • Maintenance and management of ASD S1000D Data Modules within a Common Source Data Base environment
  • The production of draft illustrations and illustration production packages from drawings, photographs etc. to aid in the final preparation of artwork
  • The discussion and agreement of maintenance procedures from a "hands on" perspective with engineering, maintenance and production departments
  • Ownership of documentation through to in-house or certification authority approval
  • The provision of responses to customer/internal departments documentation queries

What you bring:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a technical author writing aircraft technical documentation to the ASD S1000D and iSpec 2200 specifications
  • Aeronautical electrical/mechanical apprenticeship/formal training
  • Experienced in the field of aviation through practical hands on
  • Experienced in the use of ASD Simplified Technical English, SGML/XML, FrameMaker and Arbortext Editor within a Common Source Data Base (CSDB) environment
