Seating Technician

Pilatus is hiring a Seating Technician to join the 2nd shift of our aircraft completions team in Broomfield, CO. You will be will be working with top-of-the-line materials and soft-goods to construct the customized seating upholstery that goes into our market-leading business aircraft, the PC-12 NGX single engine turboprop and the PC-24 Super Versatile Jet. This position is for our 2nd shift working 2:30 PM - 11:30 PM. Training will originate on the 1st shift with a transfer to the 2nd shift upon completion.

What you do

  • Inspect incoming materials, including leather and synthetic materials for use in the production area
  • Lay out, cut, and sew parts for finished goods from locally manufactured templates
  • Sew and topstitch various materials together as per applicable drawings and templates
  • Bond various materials together using different methods and adhesives
  • Apply and finish wrap materials to seat shrouds and closures
  • Work within ERP/MRP system to maintain labor tracking and Job Card/Task sign-offs
  • Use safety equipment and comply with all safety requirements in accordance with company and government regulations and guidelines
  • Effectively communicate with management and team leads to fulfill customer delivery dates

What you bring

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), relevant technical schooling preferred
  • Minimum 3 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Basic understanding of 8 wastes and LEAN manufacturing methods preferred
  • Demonstrate ability to read and understand technical drawings
  • Ability to use measuring tools and perform basic math computations
  • Ability to use hand tools, industrial sewing machines, leather splitter/skiver and/or other specialized equipment; ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Regular attendance and willingness to work overtime as required
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Must qualify as a U.S. person in compliance with ITAR 22 CFR 120.15
