Team Leader Aircraft Seating
Pilatus is hiring a Team Leader Aircraft Seating to join our team in Broomfield, CO. In this role, you will provide effective leadership, support, and assistance to assigned team members in the fabrication of aircraft seating upholstery according to specifications and approved standards and procedures. What you do
- Prioritizes daily activities and team assignments based on production schedule and input from director
- Fabricates and installs aircraft seat covers, recognizes and troubleshoots problems, and ensures that all materials are available to support assembly activities
- Manages assigned parts and projects and maintains continuity of workflow by prioritizing work in a logical sequence, communicating priorities and schedules to team members, and ensuring the team works at a consistent and steady pace
- Ensures all work is performed according to applicable regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and established quality standards and procedures, and notifies appropriate personnel of any deviations
- Maintains accurate records and documents and completes sign-offs in a timely manner
- Ensures that deadlines and schedules are strictly adhered to and immediately notifies director if delays or problems are anticipated or exist
- Trains new hires and apprentices to develop proficiency of skill sets
- Completes timecard and time-off approvals and annual performance reviews for assigned team Other Duties/Responsibilities
- Inspects incoming components and materials and prepares associated reports
- Maintains a clean, safe, and healthy work area
- Performs QC inspections of cut, sewn, and applied parts as well as Final Seat QC
- Works within Quantum to create reworks, close work orders, submit purchasing requests, and correct punches
- Works with external departments and vendors to troubleshoot issues and create IR's as needed
- Maintains and provides equipment and supplies on a daily basis
- Responds to other projects, tasks, additional duties, and responsibilities as assigned by director
What you bring
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 5 years upholstery experience with aircraft seats or equivalent combination of education & experience
- Excellent communication skills including ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Good math/reading skills and ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
- High standards of accuracy and quality and ability to organize and plan work, adhering to deadlines
- Self-disciplined, capable of handling multiple, simultaneous projects and tasks
- Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in restricted spaces, and lift up to 40 pounds
- Regular attendance and willingness to work overtime and other shifts as required
- Proficiency in general computer use and MS Office software, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Must qualify as a U.S. person in compliance with ITAR 22 CFR 120.62
