Sustainability runs in our Swiss DNA
Switzerland is a leader in terms of innovation. Pilatus uses its own innovative expertise to play a leading role in the continuous development of sustainable technologies. Through strategic collaborations and investments, we are pro-actively tackling environmental challenges and ensuring that sustainability is firmly anchored in all areas of the company – from aircraft development to production and far beyond.

Focus on safety
At Pilatus, both the quality of our products and the working environment are of paramount importance. We ensure product safety through strict quality assurance and appropriate certification. We also place a high priority on protecting digital systems.
Sustainable construction
Pilatus infrastructures worldwide are designed and renovated to meet, at a minimum, the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) gold standard to ensure the highest standards of sustainability. Pilatus builds with local timber wherever possible – as witnessed by our hangars, most of which have no steel supports, and are among the largest timber-frame hangars in the region.
Clean energy management
We equip new buildings around the world with photovoltaic plants – and we always examine renovation projects to see whether solar energy can be used. Pilatus is committed to reducing energy consumption through heat recovery processes and to increasing energy efficiency through improved building insulation. Since 2024, electricity for the headquarters in Stans has been generated entirely from hydropower. All buildings at the headquarters are also heated with renewable energy from a regional wood-gas power plant fuelled by locally grown timber and waste wood.
Sustainable Aviation Fuel
Pilatus attaches great importance to the scaling of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF). In partnership with Synhelion, a Swiss startup specializing in solar fuels, Pilatus is driving forward the production of SAF from solar energy. In Switzerland, Pilatus has been using jet fuel containing 35 percent SAF since December 2024.
Attractive employer
Pilatus offers a comprehensive package of benefits to promote employee well-being and career development. This includes competitive salaries, vacation and public holiday pay, flexible working hours and training opportunities. Pilatus also offers annual leadership courses for all managers and senior staff who are called on to respond to rapidly changing circumstances with resilience.
Responsible corporate governance
Pilatus adheres to a corporate management policy which defines clear responsibilities, upholds high ethical standards and takes into account the interests of all stakeholders – and this is documented in our Code of Conduct. We promote transparency both inside and outside the company, which is why Pilatus recently adopted a Supplier Code of Conduct.
Switzerland as a hub for work and new ideas
Despite its large network of service centers and maintenance facilities, Pilatus intends to pursue its commitment to Switzerland as a hub of research and development, upholding high standards of sustainability. Following the launch of sustainability management at the Pilatus headquarters in Stans, sustainable standards for the subsidiaries will be implemented from here as well.
